Hey there, yesterday my PC died... it just wont turn on again...
So I thought that it was the power supply (again) that i bought LAST JANUARY but I took it to the store and they say it works, but they kept it to test it on an actual PC so it will be a while until they give it back... and if they say it's not that then that will be it for my PC because I won¡t be able to pay to get it fixed, let alone buy a new one ;D
Anyway I might visit forums from time to time using my brothes or my fathers PC, but no RTCW at all...
Ok, byebye.

if your power supply is ok ..then the problem can be from mother board ,most of the times if is not power supply then 99% in mother board ....... most of the mother boards have a led inside if you power your pc and the led is open (he have light ;D ) then your mother board is ok
good luck !!

May even be memory or graphic card. Mobo's don't just die so fast in most of the cases. Tho one never knows with today's tech...
Tho you'll see i guess, let us know what you'll find out.

By "so fast" you mean that PC dosen't just turn off all of a sudden?
I had problems with graphics card in the past and mostly what happened there was that PC would first freeze whenever I use a game and then it freezed when I use Windows, randomly.
This time the PC won't even turn ON, which I could do even if it crashed after when it was a graphics card problem...
It could very well be the motherboard or something like that, I mean.. my PC is a piece of $hit...
edit: this is too boring, I might install rtcw secretly somewhere...

well PC, s seem to die in various ways , as Hermes sometimes they hapily switch as normal , only to refuse to start next time, more alarmingly are the ones that go BANG !! upon pressing the start button if it is a new mother board that is required, and everything else is ok maybe just get a new board + processor . rich

I dont know the numbers but it seems to me that if i would need to buy a new motherboard plus a new prosessor then i should just buy a new pc instead, kinda not worth it the other way... anyway its been horrible playing on the laptop... the fps are OK but the feeling is still kinda weird... even with my razer attached... I went back to playing new super mario bros on my moms DS but I already finished getting the few stars I needed...

I don't think so. I've got a Pentium 4 HT (whatever HT means) at like 3,2 Ghz I think. RAM's been 1Gb since day 1, never really bothered to add more, and I think I can have 2 tops anyway.
I've got 2 hard drives, 1 external where I store all my stuff like movies, songs, games and backup files, and the other one is for programs and pc stuff. I've got 470 Gb with the 2 hard drives combined (more than enough for me)
Video cards I had liek 3 so far, and never paid for any, they all died before warranty ended lol... At the moment I have nVidia 8500 GT at 512 Mb. I know it's not the best but I could only buy the ones from the store to be free, and that was the best...
My 2 dvd's work when they want but I hardly use them anyway so I don't care. Then I used to have a cool sound card (Creative X-Fi) but it died on me after a few years, now I've got a crappy one but thanks to my headset it's all good.
The PC works for most games at 800x600 but for the new ones some work and some don't... Even if they all did I want a new PC anyway... time for a change ;D

Like I said earlier, if I could I would. And having a good PC is also good for programs such as Vegas... with my PC right now I can't use the preview window... they just go very slow.
What I had to do for the iDdqd video was to record EVERY video twice, once in full resolution and then a second time on a much lower one so it would work smooth on the preview window on vegas.
Genius, I know.

Great news!
The laptop I'm currently using is starting to give random blue screens that I'm not even sure how I'm bypassing!
So it is possible that I don't even get to use forums either! Awesomeee ;D
