Awesomeee ;D O noes blue screens are NIGHTMARES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You got the blue screen that comes for 1 sec and then computer restarts? If it is this then you might wanna read: support.microsoft.com/kb/324103

HeRMe! - If you're able to write what's the error you're getting we may figoure out what's causing it => Fox - if you get blue screen every time you hit your desk then smth isn't attched good - check sata/ide cable or power supply if it's pinned good into hdd/dvd/cd-rom and check memory if it's attached good cause you only need once to get shortcut with smth that uses power... tho if it's hdd/dvd-rom and due sata/ide cable you'll just get random crashes... unless if you have bad sectors on hdd then gl ;D

How can I know what error is it, Windows loads for 1-2 seconds and then blue screen flashes, it doesn't stay. Then it reboots itself and says something about change boot device or insert some disc, that leads nowhere.
im kinda afraid of turning it off now ;D The error I think I did get when it finally loaded windows was some stuff about the battery but I didn't understand it.

@rai: support.microsoft.com/kb/324103support.microsoft.com/kb/314082HeRMe!, you just need to see what error is.. vxd, numbers etc.. tho you wont get full one you'll at least know where to look for so it's a start And if it says "disk boot failure.. insert system disk.." then it can be only 3 reasons- first a stupid one, you can have a bootable disk in that prevents further loading (not likey), 2nd- your bios is messed up and tries to boot from various devices thus sometimes hangs or 3rd and most likely - hdd failure.. smth regarding to it- cables, bad sectors or disk it self..etc tho in rear cases there is a 4th reason as well- dvd's or floopy devices gone bad can cause that- it happens but rearly.

Ok now I can give more details: First of when I turn it on, I have to open and close the DVD drive, and select "last config that worked" if I select run windows normally it won't work. Then when it starts loading windows it stays so i know it wont go blue screen, I can't open the DVD at this point. Then it starts doing a hard drive check, which I can't skip because otherwise it freezes. Then I have this error: I hit accept and all runs normal, I believe the picture doesn't need translation. edit: just made a Google search, the error seems to be a dead end.

Well if it crashed on chkdisk then it's most probably either due messed up system or due bad boot sectors. I had same problem years back with my 1st laptop, i've hit one morning when i've played nfs underground and screwed up hdd, from 40b hdd i had only 12gb worked, rest was all bad sectors lol...i've fixed it via splitting and locking out bad sectors but when windows boot and if the needle hit on hdd a bad sector i got crash and sometimes it failed to read from hdd so i couldn't boot windows and had to retry till i got in, tho it worked.. =) As for the file, it's for logitech scrolling option. You can get it on net to get rid of annoying message

More AMAZING news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!1!!!! So hte laptop is now completely fucked, when i take it to my room i connect it to my ruter and now for some reason is trying to start windows from there, from my ruter.... also a windows errors comes up saying that the file SYSTEM is damaged and that i need to put the windows cd, start the pc from it and fix it... if only i could... so basically i cant even get it to work. In another news i finally got my power supply back, the guy said that it works just fine. However when i put it on my pc (it still dosent want to turn on) the fan dosent move at all, i dont know what that means... So my father and I in a blind move are going to buy a new motherboard... I guess we will be using the same processor, the same memory cards same everything, if its actually possible. Because of this i was wondering if there are any restrictions when i buy a new one, since i have a P4 maybe new motheboards are nto compatible or something, ive no idea, never changed one before. Also any recommendations? Ill be buying one on the internet from this website: www.4frags.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/85/page/1/sort/5a/name/placas+basebecause i trust them and they deliver stuff in 24 hours. btw to curt: maybe you wanna hold on on your purchase :/ laters.

kind of an old post but well... Today i finally moved from the Laptop. I bought a new motherboard, a new CPU and RAM and i ended up buying a case as well because the motherboard didn't fit I didn't want to buy nothing fancy, I ended up with: Motherboard: Asus P5Q SE2 Socket 775 DDR2 Processor: Intel Q8300 2.5 Ghz RAM: 2 GB (I had 1 before) Don't know how good or bad it really is, id call it decent at least. However im still stuck with my crappy nvidia 8500 with 512 mb. I went to "can you run it" and most games im all good but some only on minimun specs only cause the video card.... maybe for my birthday
