Hey, it has been a long time since I've been here How are you all doing? I've got a question, I've currently set up a linux server on a dedicated machine, however I can't force the clients to download a soundpack. I have tried the fs_game cvar, but when it initiates the download, it crashes with some kind of memory error. I don't know what this error means, because it's a german dedicated server. I do know that it's a hard quit, without a shutdown procedure from rtcw itself. Any ideas on enabling the linux downloading system?

yep Linux 1.0/1.1 is a real pain when it comes to this
only way around it , is like a temp fix , put the soundpack into a pak3 in the main and include in side that pak3 a map .script for a particular map when that maps comes around on map cycle ,,clients should download the file . try it with a mp_beach script with say differant spawntimes so the clients see it as differant to the standard thus download it (with their cl_allowdownload 1 ) etc
cheers Fokke
ps it works on windows this way i will try this on linux to double check
