I was a little bored so I disabled lazy mode for half an hour and wanted to see if I could do it. Well I've done it. I guess you wonder what... I've patched engine so it allows connection from any version and it's also visible on all versions - well tested only 1.0 and 1.4 as I'm to lazy to install demo and other versions (but should work...). It's currently residing on my pc only but I'll put up a test server up later today. ---------------------------------- Concept is quite simple. There was always talk about 1.0 ver. 1.4 and other crap..so I bridged it. Now players from any version can play versus players from any other version on same server..I've just tested it by playing from 1.4 and 1.0 at same time and it works fine. Since patched 1.4 works fine with 1.0 mods as it's been running on all AOD and cup servers for 2 or 3 weeks now without any problems there shouldn't be any issues. It has ups and downs as usually..there's no ability to run PB since PB code was taken out from released source...on the upside, default stuff like no reload and stuff should work just fine on 1.4 while players on 1.0 will naturally be depended of what 1.0 offers and that's no ability to disable reload (unless if player is using PB patch)... Currently is basically just a concept. It has fixes I already done in custom engine for 1.0 and few more I've done after I released it...anyways, would be nice to gather some crowd and test this puppy from all angles ... Now I'm off to watch tv as it's kinda late.

Well there's nothing need it but just to play. I need to find a way to tackle master server tho. It doesn't like to broadcast to more versions at once and just shows in version of which last packet it received. Server shows across all versions with modified data for each version if need it, but master doesn't want to list it so I guess I'll need to spoof it or something...when I have more time tho. Meanwhile I'll put server up that's accessible over any version but will only show on 1.0 master list...anyone else can access by adding server to favourites or simply by connecting via console..

I've put a test version up. Server name is Broadcast IP: 91.203.213.241:27965 Web broser: avp.rtcwx.com/home/server/91.203.213.241:27965It's running avpmod with rewards enabled. Map is atm beach (default version not edit..) only. It's pretty basic in sense as there's low ammo and no drop reload...kinda like old avp was..It's also accessible from any other version eg 1.4 by simply doing /connect 91.203.213.241:27965 - There are some bugs when users connect from 1.4 but that'll get fixed when I'll have time.

Not sure what to tell you other than I can join The knife is pretty weird, it goes faster but the hit registers down to the right instead of the middle.

Rly? Wasn't aware of it. I know that kill prints along with CP (center prints) don't show and sound is screwed as some events trigger "medic" sounds etc..wasn't aware of knife. I think it's fixable and mostly mod related since mod sends little different data then 1.4 client expects but I think it's solvable.

As a side note: I've put up a server that's set as old avpmod was..SP maps with rotation, no drop reload, acc jump, rewards enabled etc...name is rtcwx Has same binary running as well but I doubt 1.4 can connect since default binary prevents joining to SP maps but it's mostly for testing 1.0 version rly..and for some fun
