as we use the original Flooded town map
i am trying a way to even the map out a bit
as the respawn flag on that map is a bit of a hindrance ( handicap ) to the Allied team
even causes arguments when it is captured
anyways , as a quick test ( rather than remove the map and replace it )
i have added an extra function to the spawn flag
when allied team capture the flag it now increases the map timer from 7 minutes to 14 minutes !
and when Axis retake the flag it goes down to just 6 minutes !
thus Now if the Allied team feel they can win round within the 7 minutes then they can go all out for it .
however if with say just 2 minutes remaining and things look bleak they can add another 7 minutes by blowing the relay door and take the flag.
however once 8 minutes has passed in total , the Axis team can win game by simply retake the flag ! (ie the Allied team is on extra time and its like a golden goal for Axis to retake.
so it is 100% essential to leave players guarding it after X amount of time passes.
Allied will need well placed snipers to take out lone Axis attackers. Axis could even gamble on an all out rush for it and leave just a scratch force guarding the power grid.
hopefully this new idea will bring the axis out of their complex for a good old shoot out , and open the map up a bit more.
we will see,

Sounds nice, i'll give it a try While at it, i found some of the SP maps i edited 2 days ago, i sometimes put an extra "side" spawn so one player always spawn behind enemy lines (goes for SFM and few other maps), I found also just a little different Escape1. Escape2, village1, village2... if you want i can send you so you can see if it's worth to put them on

yes by all means , that has been the issue with the sp maps ( they mainly being just one way only for players to go apart from just 2 or 3 that have more options ) but be nice to try these out. i was thinking before one way to open up some of the old sp maps would be to decompile them and then add some teleports to them . i have added one to mp_beach ( reverse beach ) teleport is in forward bunker. this gives Allies another option into the base although they need to keep an lookout incase the axis follow them LO, i will pm some info to you. Very nice updates, managed to try the me beach up already, the teleport things is good. Should add more fun to the map. Also looking forward to try the mp flood map out. Update looks great. Thanks Keep going Cheers!

thanks for feedback and the pm's from everyone.
i should of said ( 2 teleports on Objective Reverse Beach )
i in forward bunker ( run through the portal where grey door stands ) and now one in the basement ( sliding door ) i did consider having it looked and the key require to open the portal ... but disable the key
so now once the Docs are captured Allied have 3 choices up short stairs ( radio stairs ) as before , long way ( via back stairs ) as before , or now through ( thru ) the sliding door ( adjacent to radio stairs ) open door and run through ( thru ) players appear in mid air and drop onto the roof of the rear enterance to lower bunker ( not far from forward bunker )
so Allied can use this to route as a way to forward bunker/beach
hopefully Allied Team will think rather than camp in basement to go onto offensive and clear Axis out of their buildings and secure the forward bunker. if not there will be lots more fragging and 3 possible ways for the docs to go ;D
remember the standard beach map is also on mapcycle (that version is 100% original map ) so best of both worlds

you keep mixing between allies defending and attacking, allies are the defense so the only ones that can benefit form the portals are the Axis.
I think it's an interesting idea, but needs some tweaking maybe.

hey Herme what i mean to say is the Allied go on counter offensive ( rather than sit back and wait for the Axis to come to them as a lot do . as sitting back now means more incoming action for the Allieds. the portals can help Allied when say if defending forward bunker and " Objective taken" they can rather then /kill jump into it. and the basement , well yes it only benefits say an Allied LT who distributes ammo then jumps through to assist his teammates on outer defense duties etc. ( i have toyed with the idea of having a locked portal on say mp_castle with , the green key (to unlock it ) put the portal entrance and green keys somewhere fun then when the obelisk is captured Allied could open it and proceed direct to the Finish.! then put the keys for example in the courtyard which rarely See's any action so Axis post some of the team there and also cover the portal. this would perhaps spice up things on that map ?

Hey, I've just tried beach with Herme and these are my opinions... The addon is nice and can make the gameplay different...i still dont know it totally coz i really hadnt the chance to see how players act with these stuff, but i have an idea...(ofc i didnt take the time to read all you wrote before so if i repeat smthing excuse me I'm lazy and in a hurry =) )... i think axis who are attacking can use these as a third way to docs, to be on lower axis (now allied) spawn faster...using the other teleport also will bring axis back on long way so i dont know if i would use it or just go long...(maybe depends on how many enemies control long way. on the other side the bunker teleport is a good way for flag retaking since you can jump down after the enemies is spawned, take flag, teleport and you're back on defense way (usually from where attacking team go)... After all it gives advantages on both sides...maybe the attacking team is favourite since it can make a bit of confusion to the defending if this team doesnt communicate to say (example) "obj goin teleport way..." .... Will wait the weekedn when server is full to see how the gameplay works...meanwhile thanks and good job =) Fox
