yesterday i have buy a racing wheel for pc brand "genius" -is a normal wheel for pc and ps2 and he connect by USB pc - i have follow all the instructions from users manual when i try to install him .. THE PROBLEM IS WHEN I CONNECT HIM BY USB THIS MESSAGE APPEARS : "POWER SURGE ON HUB PORT. a usb device has exceeded the power of its hub port " , i have 5 usb i try to connect him an all but the same message appears........... i think that the wheel dont have sufficient power to work ,in users manual say that he need 500mA to work . have you any idea how i can resolve this problem ? how to put more power an one usb? i use xp processor intel pentium duo 3g 4 g RAM the source from pc i think have 450 or 500

You need to search more on google. This is not problem with usb this is problem of XP. And this is your temp solution. right click START ,choose properties,choose taskbar then customize ,and select power surge.. and select ALWAYS HIDE

hi it must mean it requires 500mA minimum and it is drawing more than the usb on the pc can supply . ( try unplug other usb stuff like printers that may be draining available power , then try ) if it is still a problem a seperate USB powered Hub maybe be required ? www.shinyhardware.co.uk/prods/showprod.asp?pid=1230
