I have been considering getting a second monitor for a while but i remember hearing the new screen should be the same size as the first otherwise it will cause problems? Is this true?
I have XP pro and a 19' and i want to get a 22'

It wont cause any problems, i had for years 19 and 15 and few other combinations as well. I'm on only one atm cause i was stupid and didn't think where i will put my 2nd display when i was buying a new desk... I used the 2nd display for msn while playing on wolf for long time lol x) Tho it rocks when you work with photoshop and programs alike cause you can put the tools on one screen and work on another. Tho get touchscreen, i'm thinking for some time now to get me 17* lcd touchsceen... cause i'm just to lazy to navigate with mouse around

nop is no problem if you wish you can put also a tv ;D ;D lolo is cool to have 2 monitors you have a lot of options how you wish to put them........ my opinion if you need 2 monitors for photoshop or corel then use the same size (ex :22" is best) and the same color settings also see your video card is possible to need a splitter .....
...off topic ..i wonder if i modify the rtcw it will be possible that an one monitor to see in my front and to the second monitor to see in my back........... ;D ;D.......maybe is a stupid idea...also it will be nice to use a graphic pen ....for hedshoot ......

Just extension of your desktop. Just configure it on what side you want to have it (left, right, up, down), i etc always had it on my right so every time i went over the right border of a 1st display with my mouse it went automatically to 2nd screen.
It's very useful for work as you can have tools/tutorials on one side and work on another screen. Had 3 screens once- that's mass fun to ;D
And you'll probably wonder how does gaming look like- if your graphic card supports it and you have it set you can play over more screens- personally i never liked it cause the edges simply bugged me.. tho by default you set one display as primary so game always load there, or you can use clones where both displays show same things (icons on desktop etc..) but that's useless really unless if your 2nd display is a tv there is no use to see 2 same things on 2 displays imo lol

how can you move from screen to screen if you are playing a game on one side and whatever ont he other one.. you are not going to move to the other screen simply by moving right, there is a game going on... unless you are playing on a window or something

Thanks for replies.
L0. touchscreen looks good but doesnt justify me paying around double the price and the novelty will probably wear off pretty quickly for my basic needs.
Wolfsan. i got dual dvi outputs on my card. thanks. worth considering though.
legend. im sure Herme knows how dual screens works. i think he was asking how it would help ingame. if you have wolfie on left screen moving your mouse to the right wouldnt move the pointer to the right screen it would just make your player turn right.
As he said you would need to have wolfie in a window via alt-enter and then alt-tab to switch windows. a bit pointless.

When you are in full screen application you have 2 choices- either run full screen application over all windows or only over 1, if you only run over one then pressing "windows" button on keyboard will enable you to go to the rest of the screens- alt+tab doesn't always work right, especially on openGL based applications like rtcw is etc.. =)
