r_intensity and r_(map)overbrightbits are the commands for brightness. Probably easier just to set it in optionsb but as you explain it it doesnt look to me it is a config issue.

HELP??

if this is happening while u play - etc in middle of map game gets dark, then recheck if cable of your monitor is screwing with that- just tighten it to graphic card- i have 2 screens all the time and when i plug 3th one in, i always mess one up and lay under table 5 min to find right cable and to fix it If cable isn't the issue then your graphic card is giving up on u maybe If it's happening only when map changes then just edit your settings- put cmd in your autoexec.cfg- try different value of settings: r_intensity r_mapoverbrightbits u can do that in game by simply typing in console /r_intensity 4 and then /vid_restart - try different numbers to found one u like. But some maps can be really bright- i played way back with only intensity set to 5 and worked well on all maps except forest - there i could only play if i was in shadow (tunnel...) or was just blind- ah good old times If settings are the case, found the one that u like (as explained above) and then just put them in autoexec- copy/paste this and only change numbers to one u like: seta r_intensity "1" seta r_mapoverbrightbits "1" If it's something other u mean, describe it with more details Hope it help, Greetz =)

HELP??

use imageshack.us/ or tinypic.com/ to upload pic Ok, as it seems u have problem with config- just put all you need in autoexec and when u're on server that it's dark simply type /exec autoexec and then /vid_restart . This his happening probably cuz some servers create their own folders- avp, S4nd, s4ndmod,....and in this folders u have config also, and when u connect for 1st time on server u create that config with one u're using atm, and all that it's change after that need to be changed in all that configs also- so instead of typing it all the time, put all in autoexec and where is dark u simply exec file and overwrite stuff, that's it. If u need simple autoexec.cfg with brightness settings i can make one P.S. If u're doing that for demo- there autoexec isn't loaded by default so only way is to exec manually - exec auto... , file has to be inside demomain folder!

HELP??
Oct 5, 2007 13:28:28 GMT
Post by |'L0.| on Oct 5, 2007 13:28:28 GMT
problem in demo is that there is no autoexec.cfg file as it's on retail and on- as when u change something in game it saves automatically to wolfconfig_mp.cfg so if u have autoexec as on retail it loads 1st autoexec and overwrites all that is in wolfconfig_mp- so u can change etc r_intesity in game and when u run wolf again it overwrites changes with one u have in autoexec- and that isn't a case in demo. I had same problems when i test my retail cfg on demo- simply create one cfg, name it simply so u wont have to type 10 years in console to exec.- name it etc "my" and then put all settings u wish to use all the time in- they have to look like this: seta command "value" (seta r_intensity "3") "seta" sets them permanently (note use seta not set) and then just command and value. u can then change, test things in game and when u decided u don't like them u simply execute file where settings u prefer are in- /exec my - get all settings u like in that file: r_mapoverbrightbits r_intensity sensitivity (it's for mouse- as when u test or load default cfg it can set back to default and then u have to look for your 'magic touch' all over again) Basically put what ever u need in and then simply /exec my and after it, u must type in console /vid_restart so changes take place (it loads map once again). That's all the trick u need. NOTE: if u don't know on which values settings are set - simply type in console only command without number to get the one u're using atm- etc: /r_intensityconsole replays u back at what number u have currently set and what is the default number- u can ignore the default number so only focus on one it's set atm and if u like it just set them in your cfg using example i wrote above seta.... It can take an hour or so to get all settings u like but in long run u're a winner- and later on when u get in hold of it, i can tell u how to toggle stuff via VSTR that doesn't work in demo- it's a little trick to get around it but more later
