what u have one computer acting like router and connect thru it with wi fi (wireless) ? If so, i had the same problems - at 1st i had "automaticly" set - means that lan find DHCP server in order for me to connect to net or another computer but sometimes DCHP failed and i get ip 169..... and didn't found nothing but air Since i hame few computer and my primary is always one (the one i play...) i have following settings: \control panel\network connetions - net is on cable (ordinary network card) so internet connection is shared (click on it with right mouse button and click "properties" then click 2nd option (advanced) and enable "allow other computer..." when u did that move to wi fi network (right button, properties) and click internet protocol and asign ip manualy - at the main computer (one u connect thru) is "192.168.0.1" and subnet mask is "255.255.255.0" and then copy dns from your cable net (only the 1st one) and then when u configure the primary computer move to yours (2nd one) and configure your wi fi lan adress manualy so it wont use DHCP, ip: 192.168.0.2, subnet mask is the same "255.255.255.0" default gateway is 192.168.0.1 and write the same dns as the internet connection has it- that should do the trick, but note- wi fi is crap- connection drops every once and a while or slows down - i was on it some time but now i use it only for notebook and 2 other computers that don't need actualy net so much =)

it can be a firewall blocking ip but usualy it's just a mess with protocols - at least by my experiences But dunno - try manualy or just look what kinda process u have running in background - zone alarm is that kinda progy that blocks all your incoming/outgoing IPs =S Well if u could see it in 1st person i could probably help u- but wien (well few km out of it ) is kinda far and i'm not planing to got to germany to bypass and stop at your place for 2 months now - u can wait otherwise hope u will resolve issue
