Was playing AVP2 today and I finally planted dyno after about 10 attempts (3 on axis side v me) to celebrate I type /vsay dynamiteplanted so I can hear it again- childish I know but I was happy to finally make it. The server then kicks me for cheating??!?!?!?! ? What's that all about?

I had no idea guess I won't be doing it again. I could understand if I hadn't already planted but how is saying it in triumph cheating? Are there any other vsays I can't use? Like objective taken if I already have it or something?

I had no idea guess I won't be doing it again. I could understand if I hadn't already planted but how is saying it in triumph cheating? think about it say in map mp_base when 2 radars are being defended , axis engineers would wrongly think dynamite is planted at one or more radar thus screwing the game up same with saying dynamite defused. players were tired of retards constantly pressing dynamiteplanted/defused some servers dont mind but we do why dont you use the vsays ? these are designed to be less annoying as only the players nearest to you can here them. ie , default vsays type /vsay 1 ( vsay 1 to 7 ) in obj servers /vsay 1 ( is useful ) to see full list type /vsay avp also the vsay soundpack is files.filefront.com/mp+sound2pk3/;6039863;/fileinfo.htmldownload and drop into the MAIN folder then type for example , /vsay run

Are there any other vsays I can't use? Like objective taken if I already have it or something? that's exploit and never was meant to use as vsay in any part of game

I'm learning LO, thanks AVP for being tolerant. Maybe a list of server rules could be useful?

Over the last week or so, ive noticed that some players were extremely hard to kill, taking three reloads of thompson, at first i thought that i was having a bad day, however I have noticed today on AVP server half of the players have a Health of 0 and although they can still die it seems to take a lot of hits. are these players using cheats, if so can it be stopped?

It was a good thought, im not really sure what high and low pings mean to game play. ive just had a look on line, only 1 player has a constant high ping (300) all the other 8 players have below 100, and 5 have a health of constant 0, it doest look like these players have any advantage one of them is in the minus figures, bit hard to tell when you cant see the life going down. however I may have been wrong to associate the cheat with the constant health of 0, maybe this is another issue not associated with cheating at all.
another thing i noticed with the specific "cheater" was that he seemed to move more erraticaly than others and possibly faster. in the trench map, on game start I ran as fast as possible to the flag and he was already on top of a coloumn as i turned the corner. this isnt possible normally, as they are equal distances.

hi
they prob doing some longer jumps try this in your wolfconfig , com_maxfps “43” ( this combined with game dynamics/physics helps with trick jumps ) depen on your graphics card other settings that are popular are 85 and 125

Thanks for that, I had no idea this stuff can be changed, i thought all players were equal, my config currently has "85" I obviosly need to do a lot of reading up.

hi,
the person who runs faster, does he jump or just run?
everybody can run, but jumping is something else... you can practise it and go faster when doing the right moves, its not cheating (i hope ;D)
about running (or walking) : there are 2 speeds, walk and run (walking is kinda useless - always run!)
while running you can also sprint, as you have a limited amount of stamina that can recharge = green bar (or yellow) at the bottom left of screen... sprint is like a short burst of extra speed (/nofatigue is the cheatcode to have unlimited amount, type it and you get kicked)
framerate (fps) doesnt do a lot, except that it makes you go faster ~ 4-5%
if another player is running much faster than you, he's cheating (just ask how he runs so fast!)
conclusion: when hes jumping real fast hes prolly trickjumping, when hes running faster than you, you either walk instaid of run or he's cheating...

i never walk, always running, I didnt see the player run, i was on the opposing team, it was the trench map I was first from my team to reach sight of the flag, i went full speed using all the stamina i had, as soon as i reached point of sight the opposing player was already sitting on top of the colloumn beside the flag firing. normally both teams are eqaul in the first race for the flag. he killed me and i didnt see who it was in time.
but wierd things do happen on these servers, the other day I was killed, came alive and my fingers slipped from the keyboard hitting a couple of keys at the same time (dont know if that did it), but i came alive with a view that was similar to zoom on the rifle but without the scope, in other words I was on near the lookout tower looking down on the fort and the opposing players looked like a couple of feet from me, it made killing from that distance very easy, they ussually look like a dot from that distance. I couldnt turn it of, and was eventually killed by someone nearby, who was too close for me to see properly, tried to recreate it but couldnt. i did wonder whether it was a view that everyone had but i didnt know about it, many players are much better than me at the long range shots, so i prefer close up fighting however im playing mostly on a laptop so the screen isnt great, hope my new projector will change this.
